Casey Scaduto

My name is Casey Scaduto. I am a senior in high school. I decided to create this website as a way to share my Gold Award project for Girl Scouts with a broader audience. I aim to provide informative presentations and exercises to senior citizens through workshops about media literacy and misinformation. I held my first workshop at the Newbury Park Library with the help of the Conejo Valley Village. I am interested in journalism and love writing stories and investigating. I am an Opinion Editor for my high school's student publication. Being a student journalist has taught me that media literacy is critical, especially in an increasingly complex media landscape. I hope that with my Gold Award, I can provide helpful knowledge and skills to seniors who are often targeted by misinformation and fraud in several forms of media.
